Vice President & Superintendent of Schools, Catapult Academy
Andrew Post serves as President and Superintendent of Schools for Catapult Academy. In this capacity, Andrew is responsible for the day-to-day operations, including the recruitment and retention of students, increasing student achievement, professionally developing and monitoring teachers and administrators, and managing resources of school sites in districts throughout Florida and Georgia. Prior to joining Catapult, Andrew served as a classroom teacher and school site administrator in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and most recently as an Assistant Superintendent in Duval County Public Schools. In Duval, Andrew was responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the district’s Overage Academy, Bridge to Success, as well as designing multiple Early College Career Academy Models with Fortune 500 business partners that have gained national attention and recognition. Andrew was successful in leading processes that resulted in dramatically increasing the district’s overall and African-American graduation rates, college readiness reading and math rates, and high school accelerated coursework participation and performance rates; all historic highs for the district. Aside from his work within the school district, Andrew founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit which infuses literacy and sports to increase students’ chances at becoming high school graduates through programming in the United States and Jamaica. Andrew holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Secondary Education from the University of Miami.
Eurmon Hervey Jr., Ed.D.
Vice President of District & Community Partnerships
Dr. Eurmon Hervey serves as Vice President of District and Community Partnerships. An accomplished educational executive with a comprehensive blend of nonprofit, government, and academic management experience, Dr. Hervey has served in senior leadership positions in colleges and universities throughout the mid-Atlantic and Southern regions. In Washington DC, Dr. Hervey served as Assistant State Superintendent and Deputy Chief State School Officer, where he worked directly with District of Columbia Public Schools. Dr. Hervey holds a doctorate in education from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, and a master’s degree in education from Harvard University. He also received two degrees in pure mathematics: a master’s degree from Clark Atlanta University, and a bachelor’s degree from Edward Waters College. Most recently Dr. Hervey served as the Chairman of the National Dropout Prevention Center/Network.
Jeffrey Cohen joined Catapult Learning, Inc., in September 2015 as Chief Executive Officer. Jeff previously served as the President of Catapult Learning from 2001 to 2006, when the company was a division of Educate, Inc. In 2008, he oversaw the sale of the business to JMI Equity and The Carlyle Group, still two of the company’s current investors. For the past seven years, Cohen served as the President and CEO of Sylvan Learning. Prior to his time at Sylvan and Catapult Learning, Mr. Cohen held senior management roles with Thomson Learning and served in the Clinton administration, first as Chief of Staff for the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Labor and then as a detailed attorney in the White House Counsel’s Office. Mr. Cohen holds a B.A. in economics from Tufts University, an M.B.A. from the Boston University Graduate School of Management, and a J.D. from University of Maryland School of Law.
President, Schools Group
Andrea Vargas joined Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) in July 2004 and now serves as President of Catapult Learning’s Schools Division. During her career with SESI, Andrea served as the Company’s Controller, Chief Accounting Officer, and Vice President of Finance. In her role as Corporate CFO, Andrea oversees corporate finance, accounting operations, financial planning and analysis as well as merger and acquisition diligence and integration. Andrea is an operations-focused, mission-driven executive. Her range of expertise extends from managing lender and banking relationships to implementing cost-saving and revenue-generating initiatives. Previously, Andrea worked as an accounting manager with General Cigar, a $150 million manufacturer of premier cigar brands. Prior to General Cigar, she worked in various finance and accounting functions at several large corporations, including United Technologies, The Stanley Works, and ING, Inc. Andrea earned her B.A. in Finance from Bryant College and her MBA from the University of Hartford. Andrea holds a license as a Certified Public Accountant, in good standing, issued by the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy.
Sean McGrew, Ph.D.
Vice President of Assessment & Evaluation
Dr. McGrew is responsible for all R & E activities including Program Evaluation and the Client Survey Process. He designs and creates End-of-Year Reports in collaboration with district partners, and oversees the reporting process and distribution. Previously, Sean held positions with the School District of Philadelphia– first as a Policy Research Analyst and second as the Director of School Innovation and Best Practices. Sean earned his PhD from University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, his master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, and his bachelor’s degree from Davidson College.
